The Bon Children’s Welfare Center at Menri Monastery was founded by His Holiness 33rd in 1974. It is serves as both an orphanage and semi orphanage for children as well as provides education from kindergarten through the 12th grade. Subjects studied include English, Hindi, Tibetan, math, modern science and social science.

Due to the arrival of a growing of number of Bon children from different states and Himalayan areas, the Bon Children’s Welfare Center expanded so that it can house up to 300 children. Currently there are over 200 children living there, giving them the benefit of a place to do school homework and extra time to benefit from the Bon religion study program.

All the children at the Bon Children’s Center are boys, training as monks until they graduate from school. Then they have the choice to pursue monastic religious study in the Bon Dialectic School for 15 years to become a Geshe, or to pursue university studies elsewhere.

Your sponsorship donation to this fund supports the children in their education in many ways, including providing meals, school uniforms, monastery school clothing, general clothing, schoolbooks and supplies, and emergency medical care.

Know that your donation helps improve the life and education of each child.  Thank you.
